Poker is a card game that is played by two or more players and involves betting between hands. It can also involve the use of bluffing.<\/p>\n
The goal of the player is to make a winning hand by matching or bettering the other players\u2019 hands. The highest hand is a Royal Flush (A, K, Q, J, and 10 of the same suit). Other hands include Four of a Kind; Straight; Three of a Kind; Pair; and High Card. If no one has a winning hand, then the pot is split evenly among the players.<\/p>\n
Depending on the rules of the game, one or more players are required to place an initial amount into the pot before the cards are dealt. This is called a forced bet and it can be in the form of an ante, a blind bet, or a bring-in bet.<\/p>\n
Once the forced bets are made, the dealer shuffles and then deals the cards to each player one at a time beginning with the person on their left. The cards may be dealt face up or face down.<\/p>\n
