Casinos offer a wide range of gambling activities, including slot machines, table games like blackjack, roulette and craps, and poker. They also offer food and beverage services, as well as gift shops. Casinos often host live entertainment such as concerts and comedy shows by popular artists. These events can be enjoyed by individuals or groups, making them an ideal destination for group outings and celebrations.

The film’s opening feels as much like a behind-the-scenes documentary of a casino as it does a story about gangsters, and Scorsese gradually shifts from fast cuts to a more conventional narrative structure. It’s a testament to his mastery of the medium, and while it doesn’t quite rank with his greatest work like “Taxi Driver” or “Raging Bull”, it’s still streets ahead of most other gangster movies.

De Niro and Sharon Stone are both in peak form here, each delivering a tour-de-force performance that’s as powerful as it is unsettling. But it’s the movie’s setting that really sets it apart. It lays bare how the Mafia lost control of a city that mints money in billions, and shows us how huge gambling corporations have since taken over the desert metropolis. With greed and corruption as its central theme, Casino is a tragedy of epic proportions, but it’s also an utterly compelling drama that will leave you wanting more.
